Privacy Policy
Scope and responsibilities
This policy explains how Goodfolk handles personal information in connection with its website, business communications, and marketplace operations services. Goodfolk is responsible for information it collects for its own business purposes, such as sales inquiries, account administration, and billing. When processing marketplace data on a customer’s instructions, Goodfolk acts as a service provider or processor and the customer determines the purposes of that processing
Information you provide
Depending on how you use Goodfolk, we may receive your name, work email address, company, role, account information, billing details, support messages, and meeting responses. Information may be provided by you, an administrator at your organization, or a service you authorize. Do not include database credentials or unnecessary personal information in a sales inquiry or meeting request
Connected marketplace data
Customers may authorize access to databases, product records, seller information, images, documents, and other resources needed for their workflows. Those resources may contain personal information about sellers, staff, or other individuals. We process that information to carry out the customer’s instructions, produce results, troubleshoot the service, and meet applicable legal obligations. Customers are responsible for the authority and notices needed to connect their data
Website analytics and session recordings
With your permission, we use PostHog to understand visits, interactions, and how people use this website. Session recordings reconstruct page content, clicks, and scrolling to help us improve the site. Input values are masked. We do not enable console, request-body, or response-body recording. Analytics and recordings stay off until you select Allow analytics. You can withdraw permission at any time through Privacy choices in the footer. PostHog processes this information on our behalf; its privacy notice is available at https://posthog.com/privacy
Technical information
When you access the website or service, the systems providing it may receive your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, errors, and activity records. Connected services may also generate access and workflow logs. We use relevant technical information to operate the service, investigate problems, maintain security, and understand service performance
How information is used
We use information to respond to inquiries, arrange calls, provide and support the service, manage accounts and billing, carry out authorized workflows, prevent abuse, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be necessary to perform a contract, pursue legitimate business interests, comply with law, or act on consent. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on it
AI processing
Authorized workflows may use AI providers to analyze content, research product information, process images, and generate proposed changes. Relevant content may be sent to those providers as needed for the task. The providers and processing conditions applicable to a customer deployment are governed by the customer agreement and any data-processing terms. Do not provide restricted or sensitive data unless the agreed service scope permits it
Who may receive information
Information may be shared with providers that support hosting, AI processing, scheduling, communications, payment processing, and customer support, as relevant to the services you use. We may disclose information to authorized users in your organization, to comply with valid legal requirements, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations. We do not sell personal information or use connected customer data for targeted advertising
Booking a call
Book a Call links open Calendly in a separate tab. Calendly and the meeting organizer receive the information you submit there to arrange and respond to the meeting. Calendly’s own privacy notice explains its processing. Opening this website does not load an embedded Calendly scheduler
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, our contractual commitments, and applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information, the service relationship, security and support needs, and legal requirements. Customer data return and deletion follow the applicable agreement. Some records may need to be retained for accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance
Security and international processing
We apply safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed where Goodfolk or its providers operate. Where required, international transfers are subject to an appropriate legal transfer mechanism. Specific security and data-location commitments are set out in the applicable customer agreement
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If your information is held in a customer’s marketplace, contact that customer first; we assist it as required by our agreement and the law
Children
Goodfolk is a business service intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the website or account registration. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate
Updates and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements. The effective date identifies the latest revision. For privacy questions or requests, use your agreed customer contact or the contact link on this website. For a booking inquiry, you can also reply using the organizer details in your meeting confirmation
